How it forms
Two of the lords of the wealth houses, the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 9th and 11th, are linked: they share a sign, aspect each other, or sit in each other’s signs. The two must rule different houses.
The 2nd is savings, the 11th income and gains, and the 5th and 9th fortune. The more such pairs a chart has, the stronger the engine grades it.
What it gives
Wealth is earned, kept and multiplied: the houses of income, savings and fortune work together.
When a lord also rules a dusthana. Wealth is earned, kept and multiplied: the houses of income, savings and fortune work together. Dusthana lordship means some of it is spent as fast as it comes.
What weakens it
Each of these makes the yoga weaker without removing it. The tag says how established the rule is.
- One of the planets also rules the 6th, 8th or 12th houseClassical
How common is it?
We cast 20,000 charts with this site's engine, for random birth times and places between 1940 and 2010, and counted. Dhana Yoga appeared in 86.5% of them: about nine charts in ten. It held in full, with none of its weakening conditions, in 18.8%; in the rest it was present in a weaker form.
A rule that appears in about nine charts in ten cannot mark anyone out on its own. What matters is its strength, and whether anything in the chart cancels it, which is why the engine grades each one rather than simply reporting it.
