How it forms

Saturn sits in its own sign or its sign of exaltation (Capricorn, Aquarius or Libra), and that sign is a kendra, the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house, counted from the ascendant.

BPHS adds that the planet must be strong. The engine reads that as Saturn’s Shadbala reaching the minimum BPHS sets; below it, the yoga is reported in a weaker form.

What it gives

You rise slowly but surely, gaining authority through persistence, organisation and a willingness to carry burdens others refuse. Command over people, institutions, land, law or politics suits you, and you often end far above where you began. The yoga shines brightest when discipline serves others.

What weakens it

Each of these makes the yoga weaker without removing it. The tag says how established the rule is.

  • The planet’s Shadbala (sixfold strength) is below the minimum BPHS setsClassical
  • The planet is combust, too close to the SunClassical
  • The planet is debilitated in the navamsa (D-9)Classical
  • The planet loses a planetary warClassical
  • The planet is joined by the Sun or the MoonLater classical
  • The planet also rules the 6th, 8th or 12th houseLater classical
  • The planet is joined by Rahu, Ketu, Saturn or MarsModern
