Ketu Mantra
The mantras of Ketu, the planet of detachment, spirituality, intuition and sudden loss. Traditionally chanted on Tuesday.

Om Sraam Sreem Sraum Sah Ketave Namah
Meaning: The seed syllables of Ketu, followed by a salutation to Ketu. Beej mantras carry no sentence meaning: the syllables themselves are the invocation.

Navagraha Stotram verse
पलाशपुष्पसङ्काशं तारकाग्रहमस्तकम्। रौद्रं रौद्रात्मकं घोरं तं केतुं प्रणमाम्यहम्॥
Palasha-pushpa-sankasham taraka-graha-mastakam Raudram raudratmakam ghoram tam ketum pranamamyaham
Meaning: I bow to Ketu, red as the palasha flower, the head of the stars and planets, fierce and of fierce nature.
How to chant
Sit facing east or north after bathing, and chant at a steady pace, aloud or under the breath. A mala of 108 beads keeps the count: one round is one mala. Most people chant one or more malas daily; a full anushthana, the traditional complete course, is a fixed total spread over days or weeks.
Mantras are a devotional practice, kept for peace of mind and as a traditional remedy. They are not a substitute for medical, legal or financial advice. For a planned anushthana, families usually consult a priest, who also checks the pronunciation.
For Ketu, the day is Tuesday. The count commonly given for a full anushthana is 17,000 repetitions; traditions vary, and some multiply it by four in this age.
