Shukra Mantra
The mantras of Venus, the planet of love, marriage, beauty, comfort and the arts. Traditionally chanted on Friday, in the morning.
Beej mantra
ॐ द्रां द्रीं द्रौं सः शुक्राय नमः
Om Draam Dreem Draum Sah Shukraya Namah
Meaning: The seed syllables of Venus, followed by a salutation to Venus. Beej mantras carry no sentence meaning: the syllables themselves are the invocation.

ॐ शुं शुक्राय नमः
Om Shum Shukraya Namah
Meaning: Salutations to Shukra, Venus.
Navagraha Stotram verse
हिमकुन्दमृणालाभं दैत्यानां परमं गुरुम्। सर्वशास्त्रप्रवक्तारं भार्गवं प्रणमाम्यहम्॥
Hima-kunda-mrinalabham daityanam paramam gurum Sarva-shastra-pravaktaram bhargavam pranamamyaham
Meaning: I bow to Bhargava, white as snow, jasmine and the lotus stalk, the great teacher of the daityas, expounder of every science.
How to chant
Sit facing east or north after bathing, and chant at a steady pace, aloud or under the breath. A mala of 108 beads keeps the count: one round is one mala. Most people chant one or more malas daily; a full anushthana, the traditional complete course, is a fixed total spread over days or weeks.
Mantras are a devotional practice, kept for peace of mind and as a traditional remedy. They are not a substitute for medical, legal or financial advice. For a planned anushthana, families usually consult a priest, who also checks the pronunciation.
For Venus, the day is Friday, in the morning. The count commonly given for a full anushthana is 16,000 repetitions; traditions vary, and some multiply it by four in this age.
